BITTER LEAF SOUP

Bitterleaf soup is very delicious and also comes third on my list of Nigerian popular soups. This soup is popular because it could be made in more than five different ways and can also be refrigerated.

GROUNDNUT or PEANUT SOUP

Groundnut soup very porpular Ghana. It is a rich , nutty, and palate pleasing meal when served with rice, plantains or any starch like Eba. The term groundnut is use interchangeably with peanuts- It is called peanuts in America but most people outside of the states refer to it as Groundnut.

EGUSI SOUP

Egusi (melon) soup is the most popular of all Nigerian soup. Egusi is ground up shelled melon seed. Its dry milled and combined with a little water to form a paste. The paste is then combined with seafood and cows meat to make the soup. Egusi is traditionally served with a starch.

ISIEWU

The process of preparing Isiewu is so similar to that of Nkwobi that lots of people find it hard to differentiate between the two of them. One major difference is that Nkwobi is prepared with cow meat while Isi Ewu which literally means goat head, is prepared with goat!

JOLLOF RICE

There are various recipes for Jollof rice and they all depend on which Country you're from.It is a one-pot rice dish popular in many West African countries, and it's indeed a very porpular rice recipe in Nig.

MOI MOI

Moimoi or Moin-Moin is a Nigerian steamed bean pudding made from a mixture of washed and peeled black-eyed peas, onions and fresh ground peppers. It is a protein-rich food that is a staple in Nigeria. Some adaptations also put apples in MoiMoi.

FRIED RICE

The second most popular rice dish in Nigeria; A must have at parties and a major meal in most homes. It's tagged "Nigerian Fried Rice" obviously cos there are various recipes out there but the popular African recipe is the Nigerian Fried Rice. Now, there are several methods of cooking Nigerian Fried Rice.

My husband is from Nigeria and he felt like he was home. The food is authentic and so delicious. The owner/hostess is very personable. It's like going to your mom's house and having her cook your favorite dish!

I am soooo happy I found this place. The vegetable soup was GREAT, and the ladies were so friendly and patient with teaching me the menu! I am learning more about my African heritage and food and they took time to explain the menu and items to me. We WILL be back!
